Hey ya'll! So this is a blue design I did back in April when we were all hitting the blue hard for Autism Awareness. And I was also heavy into practicing my water marbling. I tried a couple of different designs in the water for this mani, I'm trying to branch out! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My index and pinky fingers are 2 coats of OPI <i>The Flowers Are Blue-ming</i>. It's a deep royal blue with scattered holo glitter! This polish was kind of teal to my eye on the first coat, but more of a true blue on the second. It is perfectly opaque at two coats and the formula was superb. I almost didn't even do clean up on it. That's saying something.</div>

My other three nails are marbled (I love wearing marbles!) with OPI <i>Dating a Royal</i>, <i><a href="http://hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2013/01/opi-my-boyfriend-scales-walls.html" target="_blank">My Boyfriend Scales Walls</a> </i>and Zoya <i>Yummy</i>. I tried Revlon <i>Coastal Surf</i> first but she just wasn't playing nice, so I used<i> </i>tried <i>Yummy </i>and she worked. I topped the 3 marble nails with China Glaze <i>Fairy Dust</i> to kind of bring it to the level of <i>The Flowers Are Blue-ming</i> and top coated them all with my beloved Seche <i>Vite</i>. Do you love it??<br />

Heeeey ya'll! Long time no bloggin' - so so sorry. I've still been painting my nails but not <i>quite</i> as often and it's all I can do to squeeze it in! I'm racking up a back log of polish photos... I was really excited about these nails though and was looking for a moment to share them with you! It started out with my first Picture Polish lacquer in <i>Honey Dew</i>! (I also bought <i>Tiffany</i> which, should be self explanatory.) Here is a swatch of <i>Honey Dew</i> to get us started.... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7ZWHhrcWUnmeJesqVSANVi8SJPaGKOlTZ-yICrR4ba0x6sgvlhHv8K05cSNsKK2xXB9PTf2DBuMAnPGtHAQtj8RSF0T4jTWmp7FVv5k2hzzfhXFLnRy1qKr5RoWbK9vOgQ68UrOkQEux9/s1600/IMAG7026w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="watermarble dotting gradient" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7ZWHhrcWUnmeJesqVSANVi8SJPaGKOlTZ-yICrR4ba0x6sgvlhHv8K05cSNsKK2xXB9PTf2DBuMAnPGtHAQtj8RSF0T4jTWmp7FVv5k2hzzfhXFLnRy1qKr5RoWbK9vOgQ68UrOkQEux9/s640/IMAG7026w.jpg" title="a-england lady of the lake picture polish honey dew" width="600" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>Honey Dew</i>, besides the super cute name, is gorgeous. I love that it's like a turquoise but a little greener and although not neon, it's very bright and in your face, which is right up my alley when it comes to nail color. This is pretty similar to Color Club <i>Blue-ming</i> but I've yet to try a side by side comparison. The formula on this was...ok. Just ok. From my experience, it must be pretty hard to get colors like this a super smooth formula. It was a little bit draggy near the cuticle but I still managed with only two coats. In any case the color is well worth the patience required for the application.</div>

<br />
After I wore it (mostly) plain for a day, I decided to add some more to it and since I've been in a marbling mood, I marbled my index and middle finger and put a gradient on my pinky. The purple I used is a-England <i>Lady of the Lake. </i>I love love this deep purple scattered holo. The formula is amazing just like most other a-England polishes I have. I was loving this color combination so hard. My dear brother called it the Charlotte Hornets mani... so there ya go. Also, the gradient was so simple but I'm thinking of using these exact polishes and doing all my nails in this gradient! <br />

Here's mah right hand. It's so hard to pose with my right hand! But I felt like the marble was so cool I needed to show it too. Look at the holo on my ring finger, it shows up really well here.<br />

Hey guys! Hope everyone has had a great weekend! Can't believe it's almost over... yuck. Today I'm bringing you one of the colors from Zoya's Spring 2013 Lovely collection - this is a mini bottle I got when I ordered all the color cuties! This is Zoya <i>Blu</i>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
This has been described by a lot of folks as the perfect bridal blue and I'm gonna have to go ahead and agree with that! I have another blue similar to this <a href="http://hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2012/12/winter-theme-with-essie-borrowed-and.html" target="_blank">Essie </a><i><a href="http://hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2012/12/winter-theme-with-essie-borrowed-and.html" target="_blank">Borrowed and Blue</a> </i>and though it's very pale also, I think it's a little brighter and not as dusty, as this one. <br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPYPf-1Dpu5G1yHMePC93Jsxbeg_Bp6flt4zZ1nU5KRJkWGPMwduEVrbauWOlRGBhrSzTpdYz2hoL1vv0kBvNz3yo-dLdsB4vnrMQ7z5qY2AD9lo3GHXQMMjePyJFbsLPmZZ6TOmQYEDXy/s1600/IMAG6862w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="pale light cream blue" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPYPf-1Dpu5G1yHMePC93Jsxbeg_Bp6flt4zZ1nU5KRJkWGPMwduEVrbauWOlRGBhrSzTpdYz2hoL1vv0kBvNz3yo-dLdsB4vnrMQ7z5qY2AD9lo3GHXQMMjePyJFbsLPmZZ6TOmQYEDXy/s640/IMAG6862w.jpg" title="zoya blu" width="564" /></a></div>
<br />
If I were better at taking notes when I was polishing I could tell you with 100% surety but I'm not, so I <i>think</i> I used 2 coats here. It was a little bit thick for me, I tend to prefer a thinner formula, but it turned out smooth and even and didn't flood the cuticles. This blue is so pale it could be used by some as a palette cleanser polish - usually you would choose nudes for that, but anything clean and pale usually works for me.<br />
<br />

Hey ya'll! I'm sorry it has been soooo long since I last blogged! I started working out (ever heard of Insanity??) and have a super limited amount of time in the evenings so basically, it's been spent doing that...and slapping on some polish when I can! Since it's still April and blue is the color of the month for <a href="http://www.autism-society.org/about-us/national-autism-awareness-month/" target="_blank">Autism Awareness</a>... today I'll be showing you China Glaze <i>Frostbite</i>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaonTdvA0-zjkjB9ChdNykqVkDuIkFI98GytN58xhd-JyVZ9ijMPx-5qXKjebBvZixz7roVwQJx4w_5luTSVJ_IDoZTA2XAZ_epq19gTHe8DMVnmaYZxQ9a0X2G537l0LkFgmVMzot3PtF/s1600/IMAG6778w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="royal blue shimmer" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaonTdvA0-zjkjB9ChdNykqVkDuIkFI98GytN58xhd-JyVZ9ijMPx-5qXKjebBvZixz7roVwQJx4w_5luTSVJ_IDoZTA2XAZ_epq19gTHe8DMVnmaYZxQ9a0X2G537l0LkFgmVMzot3PtF/s640/IMAG6778w.jpg" title="china glaze frostbite" width="466" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>We've already discussed how much I love blue polish on this blog - and I love this particular one especially! Pictures really can't capture how great it is. This is a rich, vibrant royal blue with a heavy frost-like shimmer. Usually frost would send me running for the hills but it totally works here. This polish almost glows...and it is SO hard to get a picture of! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
The formula on this is perfect, in my opinion. A little thin and sheer on the first coat but two provides full and even coverage. It dries a little bit matte so you definitely want to use a top coat here. I am wearing 2 coats with one coat of Seche <i>Vite </i>in the photos. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

What do ya'll think of this blue? If you have it, don't you love it?? <br />

Hey ya'll! I have a really cute design to share today! If you follow me on Instagram (see the side bar) or follow Cristina at <a href="http://www.letthemhavepolish.com/" target="_blank">Let Them Have Polish!</a> or Kelly at <a href="http://www.vampyvarnish.com/" target="_blank">Vampy Varnish</a> (<a href="http://instagram.com/l_t_h_p" target="_blank">@l_t_h_p</a> and <a href="http://instagram.com/kellyvampyvarnish" target="_blank">@kellyvampyvarnish</a> on Instagram!) then you've already seen this design. They teamed up for a Wednesday guest post by Cristina on Kelly's blog - and this was the first design she used for that. See it [<a href="http://www.vampyvarnish.com/2013/03/nail-art-wednesday-let-them-have-polish-mod-dots-barielle" target="_blank">here</a>] with a tutorial! I definitely like the colors she chose for hers better than mine but I chose different ones so it wouldn't be <i>exactly</i> the same. As a side note - I've been blowing up the blog with some China Glaze lately huh??</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBLWl7Luh2L5-rTJ9jnOoyVxve2KmLP0syDAgd4CrCqt9aHmQadrlKxYsPRiDvsycN0J2Tw7M-4MPFW4yMaG06nwpixOz88xw8BmKRylg_kzviFjhlXvs-RM6iD1RtpjmZVxeSfTsDZ2uv/s1600/IMAG6417w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="def defying fuchsia fanatic tart-y for the party sunday funday recycle" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBLWl7Luh2L5-rTJ9jnOoyVxve2KmLP0syDAgd4CrCqt9aHmQadrlKxYsPRiDvsycN0J2Tw7M-4MPFW4yMaG06nwpixOz88xw8BmKRylg_kzviFjhlXvs-RM6iD1RtpjmZVxeSfTsDZ2uv/s640/IMAG6417w.jpg" title="mod dots with china glaze" width="524" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: left;">
For this design I used a lot of polish... all China Glaze except for the black. They are:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Tart-y for the Party</i> (lavender)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Sunday Funday</i> (blue)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Fuchsia Fanatic </i>(pink)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Recycle </i>(grey)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Def Defying</i> (green)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Milani <i>Black Swift</i> (I think.)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The thing about this mani is that is looks super complicated and involved, but it's not! It's so easy, even a beginner could do it... well, a beginner with a fairly steady hand. Cristina's tutorial explains it all. I used Seche <i>Vite</i> as usual to dry fast before I taped off my nails to paint the halves. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here is a picture of my base coats before I got started with the nail art. All of them are gorgeous colors on their own. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So who else is going to take a stab at this design? If you do, tag me on Instagram or Facebook (if we're personal friends... wondering if I should get a Hard Lacquer Facebook page? ... so much to keep up with!) I usually get bored with my nail are pretty quickly - but I actually enjoyed wearing this one for a few days! <br />
<br />
Also - please take a second while you're here and vote in the poll I have in the sidebar! Thanks!<br />

Hey ya'll! Hope you're having a good weekend. Today I have a polish swatch that's been on my computer for a long time, since I did the <a href="http://hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2013/02/flipflop-february-day-18-galaxy.html" target="_blank">Galaxy Nails</a> way back in February. <i>Russian Navy</i> is a classic OPI shade and since <a href="http://www.autism-society.org/about-us/national-autism-awareness-month/" target="_blank">April is Autism Awareness Month</a> and blue is the color to recognize it, I figured this was the perfect opportunity to show it! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwO45G9GPbqAvt8UetHzMVZo0_owBMEBiTryrA1nyCNDWE0PeZa9e2SFQhI-duugA3OHZ0mHzQJeP2hbbRq0epyG3RHjI79F4ZPq2624BHNvkIvE3uHy6e17Y0jbdnKGBMnixASt5hyphenhyphenh2P/s1600/IMAG5940w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="navy blue shimmer" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwO45G9GPbqAvt8UetHzMVZo0_owBMEBiTryrA1nyCNDWE0PeZa9e2SFQhI-duugA3OHZ0mHzQJeP2hbbRq0epyG3RHjI79F4ZPq2624BHNvkIvE3uHy6e17Y0jbdnKGBMnixASt5hyphenhyphenh2P/s640/IMAG5940w.jpg" title="OPI Russian Navy" width="386" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<i>Russian Navy</i>, is exactly that, navy. It is rich, deep, dark and vampy but never black. It is an easy 2-coater polish. I have lots of pics of this because... </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbgP8BoJENLznKVbcewngMY9NEg5AtOO-mcLMLie3jSrdMgA275UTCWaGfIZtEJv1pbLApF8KfLqqEa059BIU4YMJVXGKu9_iJkThzBWyQ50AgVeC90xreQrxBwAcCjRt0L2KbnLHn16pu/s1600/IMAG5941w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="navy blue shimmer" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbgP8BoJENLznKVbcewngMY9NEg5AtOO-mcLMLie3jSrdMgA275UTCWaGfIZtEJv1pbLApF8KfLqqEa059BIU4YMJVXGKu9_iJkThzBWyQ50AgVeC90xreQrxBwAcCjRt0L2KbnLHn16pu/s640/IMAG5941w.jpg" title="OPI Russian Navy" width="504" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
...the blue and pink shimmer in this makes it sooooo awesome! I was worried it wouldn't come across in the photos but it does and that makes me happy! Also, so sorry I am not holding the <i>Russian Nav</i>y bottle, but mine is a mini and OPI minis are TINY, the tiniest of any other brand I have (which SUCKS, OPI - fix that) and the bottle is impossible to hold in any way that would make sense for a picture. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXC89hAonJKVoIWs9I1vqZPqB47QVpKkqePDzWDSWB000WES5fMd2Zib-3v1Xny_vZIIKbwA2FnyTnswePgKD0Ue9em9Z6JuJGASOUNvUr4gDecbRYtpV75LlzgB7qaKFoYjpTciUmWaxB/s1600/IMAG5944w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="navy blue shimmer" border="0" height="482" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXC89hAonJKVoIWs9I1vqZPqB47QVpKkqePDzWDSWB000WES5fMd2Zib-3v1Xny_vZIIKbwA2FnyTnswePgKD0Ue9em9Z6JuJGASOUNvUr4gDecbRYtpV75LlzgB7qaKFoYjpTciUmWaxB/s640/IMAG5944w.jpg" title="OPI Russian Navy" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Look at that close up! It may not make sense to some of you non-nail polish obsessives, but I really love a polish that looks like a simple plain color from a distance but up close has a lot going on. This is awesome and definitely deserves to be the OPI classic color that it is. I need to get a full size bottle asap. <br />

Happy Friday you guys! I'm so excited to show you this water marble. I'm still kind of an amateur at this technique so I get REALLY excited when it turns out good! I loved this one and wore it for 3 days.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYfHrSZ2N2fMSFrvxaviLilb1LYMO3hqQKJuBZGhq1QBvj1uggFkRcdXqXcDM2WtVbqMNBW6sHwfOFi0a7J5JIDNCd9D2-uDRuSkpgUPmuniZbEzxMIkqnZeVr1VfphfRJk2ErZxGMktK7/s1600/IMAG6731w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="china glaze fuchsia fanatic def defying pelican gray" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYfHrSZ2N2fMSFrvxaviLilb1LYMO3hqQKJuBZGhq1QBvj1uggFkRcdXqXcDM2WtVbqMNBW6sHwfOFi0a7J5JIDNCd9D2-uDRuSkpgUPmuniZbEzxMIkqnZeVr1VfphfRJk2ErZxGMktK7/s640/IMAG6731w.jpg" title="China Glaze water marble" width="564" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this marble I used China Glaze <i>Fuchsia Fanatic, Def Defying</i> and <i>Pelican Gray</i> with Wet 'n Wild <i>Black Creme</i>. Of course I did the usual taping around the fingers before I marbled and took it off after each nail.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I started out with base coat of <i>Pelican Gray </i>and marbled on my index, pinky and thumb with <i>Fuchsia Fanatic, Pelican Grey </i>and<i> Black Creme</i>. My middle and ring fingers were marbled with <i>Def Defying, Pelican Gray </i>and<i> Black Creme. </i>These all played nice together in the water. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I still haven't worn <i>Fuchsia Fanatic</i> on it's own but I've been using it for nail art like crazy! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Here is a picture of my thumb (kind of awkward photo) - That one and my middle finger are my favorites! </div>

Hey guys! Hope ya'll all (I know, I say it anyway.) had a wonderful Easter! Before I get into the Easter nails, you remember in [<a href="http://hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2013/03/china-glaze-sunday-funday.html" target="_blank">this post</a>] when I said the color totally gave me smurf fingers when I took it off? Well, you'll be seeing those here in this post. Kindly overlook them. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEwvoLbdU1WfiJKmAvM44OlM-lAxaN29D6oQ54lVrd8L84Ikuarz4lki2BfpHF1FAI36mcruoXcMvbisHLRw1UYG992Kyvoe-MiZEIBFA3CqFQHuqSaKKqKJMvwcydm7IpE0yWfrqLUbV5/s1600/IMAG6705w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="mani easter holiday spring" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEwvoLbdU1WfiJKmAvM44OlM-lAxaN29D6oQ54lVrd8L84Ikuarz4lki2BfpHF1FAI36mcruoXcMvbisHLRw1UYG992Kyvoe-MiZEIBFA3CqFQHuqSaKKqKJMvwcydm7IpE0yWfrqLUbV5/s640/IMAG6705w.jpg" title="easter manicure" width="520" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>I used 3 polishes for my Easter nails: Zoya <i>Shelby </i>(pink), NYC <i>Lexington Yellow </i>(duh) and China Glaze <i>Tart-y for the Party </i>(lavender). For my index and pinky I did a water marble with <i>Shelby</i> and <i>Tart-y for the Party</i>. I tried to use <i>Lexington Yellow</i> also but it wasn't being nice to me and it was late...so it got the boot. <br />
<br />
For my middle and ring nails I did gradients using <i>LY </i>as a base for both and <i>Shelby </i>on the middle and <i>TftP</i> on the ring. I think I should've left it like that... but I can never leave well-enough alone. So, I stamped.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2qXTTjaKDUP-HckgvFp3Klv2LwgnIGR6NhlvImr7SEQ_ygvF-oHt2GyC5PX3zGsDzGYI6Z6vyyNzqDG4fwH2voRdVlSLhXbpvjMdhtBM5FHRgGKuUxnU43FNNZiA8oMQIrmjob6Qu7bbC/s1600/IMAG6717w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="mani easter holiday spring" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2qXTTjaKDUP-HckgvFp3Klv2LwgnIGR6NhlvImr7SEQ_ygvF-oHt2GyC5PX3zGsDzGYI6Z6vyyNzqDG4fwH2voRdVlSLhXbpvjMdhtBM5FHRgGKuUxnU43FNNZiA8oMQIrmjob6Qu7bbC/s640/IMAG6717w.jpg" title="easter manicure" width="486" /></a></div>
<br />
This stamp is from BM302, and it really is an adorable stamp, but I just wasn't loving wearing this mani. It is one of those designs that looks so much cuter in the photos than it came across in real life. My stamping polish is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (which will be referred to as CSM from here on out on this blog) <i>Navy Baby</i>. Also - seems like other, more experienced stampers get much thicker and more clear lines than I do - I think I'm scraping off too much but I don't know to not!? Who has tips... anyone? Then I topped them all off with one coat of INM <i>Northern Nights </i>and one coat of Seche <i>Vite</i>. <br />
<br />
What do you think? Love? Hate? Better pre-stamp or post-stamp?? <br />
<br />

Good Saturday morning girls (and guys?)!! Today I have another polish from China Glazes Avant Garden collection, <i>Fancy Pants</i>! I love love the names they came up with for this collection... </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeatfcaVYuLon_vvL8qS4gOEYAratrBU7nqccDUSjIbM6Py3hnbhHyPkHywL_h6nPw432U_-PmcrRKr8dzMsoMuqhSm8kEwRshB_F6tNWRG6Y1bVjmCBQGDaZQDjZsVsDU277PhkRbRbz5/s1600/IMAG6640w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeatfcaVYuLon_vvL8qS4gOEYAratrBU7nqccDUSjIbM6Py3hnbhHyPkHywL_h6nPw432U_-PmcrRKr8dzMsoMuqhSm8kEwRshB_F6tNWRG6Y1bVjmCBQGDaZQDjZsVsDU277PhkRbRbz5/s640/IMAG6640w.jpg" title="China Glaze Fancy Pants" width="526" /></a> </div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>Fancy Pants</i> is gorgeous. I wore this for 3 days and was still a smidge sad when I took it off. I used 2 coats here. I'd call this a deep periwinkle, it's a little more purple and a little more deep/dark than your average periwinkle. And it has an awesome awesome pink shimmer. I wondered if this was going to be too close to <a href="http://www.hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2013/01/cult-nails-flushed.html" target="_blank">Cult Nails <i>Flushed</i></a> before I ordered it, but it's not at al! (I apparently love purples with pink shimmer... I have Zoya <i>Lotus </i>also...) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCYxvkX8K-AK-g06be8KRxRxV5G8ziryvghTM0RXT2R21o_UOVGA3Er-eTz8ZxWSMNWfyO_w1C36Of-fzCpGrR9yW6Ah7I0s8UgFS1foDj7LqWwMf4xpT1mGVgFlGftcLM9xMiiOqxGmfG/s1600/IMAG6645w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCYxvkX8K-AK-g06be8KRxRxV5G8ziryvghTM0RXT2R21o_UOVGA3Er-eTz8ZxWSMNWfyO_w1C36Of-fzCpGrR9yW6Ah7I0s8UgFS1foDj7LqWwMf4xpT1mGVgFlGftcLM9xMiiOqxGmfG/s640/IMAG6645w.jpg" title="China Glaze Fancy Pants" width="542" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAWLedctvqCgFTEaPY8kH2irs0SWGKQqwVzPopr0FD546OcfzVf-V-6AC9mk5sGH11VCHYEuyaLNYv0GqeXray-v0UNvQHCsfy0SU0nOo7C6gbp8d-QLomZEvl6KbgZnzb6bynT0pWm64Q/s1600/IMAG6643w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" height="476" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAWLedctvqCgFTEaPY8kH2irs0SWGKQqwVzPopr0FD546OcfzVf-V-6AC9mk5sGH11VCHYEuyaLNYv0GqeXray-v0UNvQHCsfy0SU0nOo7C6gbp8d-QLomZEvl6KbgZnzb6bynT0pWm64Q/s640/IMAG6643w.jpg" title="China Glaze Fancy Pants" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Unfortunately I didn't take any detailed notes on the formula when I painted this or I might have better information. BUT I do remember it was 2 easy coats and I had no issues with the formula. As I've said before, China Glaze tends to lean towards the thick, creamy side anyway, so there ya go. <br />
<br />
The only weird thing about this polish is that the shimmer is super fine and smooth, but the finish after one coat of top coat was still not quite as shiny as I would've expected it to be. Next time I'll probably do two, just to get that glassy look. <br />
<br />

Hey ya'll! How are ya? It's kind of funny how I change my nails so often and sometimes blog about what I have on right away, and sometimes not blog about certain designs and polishes until weeks later. This one? I have it on right now. Put it on last night. It's China Glaze <i>Sunday Funday</i> from the Spring Avant Garden collection (which is altogether an awesome collection.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4l8nodyY-RNICzr7c8uOxa3o4J73E5FkmpYTs5Fcu4G0_qg0p4DGb1YGJ1QwpDkA-6Id6F6iuUHXVT65g9MBGGx74PeerpQhARu46vtSkJhlTOs3xWM9lXDfXgNRA_ylOdSd9x1Q_MJK7/s1600/IMAG6670w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Avant Garden medium blue turquoise creme cream" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4l8nodyY-RNICzr7c8uOxa3o4J73E5FkmpYTs5Fcu4G0_qg0p4DGb1YGJ1QwpDkA-6Id6F6iuUHXVT65g9MBGGx74PeerpQhARu46vtSkJhlTOs3xWM9lXDfXgNRA_ylOdSd9x1Q_MJK7/s640/IMAG6670w.jpg" title="China Glaze Sunday Funday" width="520" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<i>Sunday Funday</i> is a medium blue turquoise. A true turquoise. It has a bit more green in it than these photos let on, but I couldn't for the life of me get an accurate picture. It's vibrant and blue and I love it! It reminds me of OPI <i>Ogre the top Blue</i> which I have loved for a while, and without swatching them side by side, I'd say it's a little lighter and a bit greener than <i>Ogre</i>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYcO6wF_Jc6BbjkIycuTO2q1r1SSnewnvGP3jmn0zng-0KGSqVPytJnv7pktum-2mHe2_mkov-v0DWo_D0o-tII17Wx0tyoneA1WgakjphaxVJdACroQV3UMojPcOYcugDxNLIVglOz8_B/s1600/IMAG6669w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Avant Garden medium blue turquoise creme cream" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYcO6wF_Jc6BbjkIycuTO2q1r1SSnewnvGP3jmn0zng-0KGSqVPytJnv7pktum-2mHe2_mkov-v0DWo_D0o-tII17Wx0tyoneA1WgakjphaxVJdACroQV3UMojPcOYcugDxNLIVglOz8_B/s640/IMAG6669w.jpg" title="China Glaze Sunday Funday" width="500" /></a></div>
<br />
The formula was very easy to work with and was self-leveling, though a little thick for me. I tend to prefer a thinner formula. I used two coats here, they were a breeze. Even clean-up was a breeze and blues can sometimes be difficult in this area. China Glaze tends to have a really creamy formula on creams, as opposed to watery and thin - and these usually make for great water marblers! Contemplating doing one of those again soon...<br />
<br />
<b>[*Update 4.1.13* </b><i>Sunday Funday </i>wore like a dream - had it on for 3 days with no chipping and barely any tip wear. But have mercy, when I took it off?? I had terrible smurf fingers. Terrible. I've never really had this problem with my other blues but it stained my fingers so bad! My nails weren't stained though and the blue washed/wore off my fingers quickly. All in all I'd say it was worth it and won't deter me from wearing this again.<b>]</b> <b> </b><br />
<br />
My accent nail is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure <i>Gilded Lily</i>. 3 coats. Pretty thin on the first coat but built up nicely. I don't think this color would ever look good on me by itself so I will probably only ever use it as an accent or in nail art - but it's really a gorgeous glitter. Then I used a dotting tool in 3 different sizes to make a simple dot design with <i>Sunday Funday</i> on top of <i>Gilded Lily.</i><br />
<br />

Hey ya'll! I have another <span style="color: magenta;">PINK</span> post today! This one is a comparison of two similar colors: Zoya <i>Ali</i> and Nina Ultra Pro <i>Punki Pink</i>. In all photos I have <i>Ali </i>on my index and ring fingers and <i>Punki Pink</i> on my middle and pinky fingers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqJJmSTO7uLNoRhZDmCZMT9uoNorx6521jlFEivOVnzJ08duSqUehmjHvOHB39jdUdtcyXXuu_icXmC6jBF4-sKcZsjF08r0Nls6sA8cE5_QUzb57Qwz7X_hirQIuH6fNBBlO_eRhc5BcK/s1600/IMAG5543w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="hot neon pink" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqJJmSTO7uLNoRhZDmCZMT9uoNorx6521jlFEivOVnzJ08duSqUehmjHvOHB39jdUdtcyXXuu_icXmC6jBF4-sKcZsjF08r0Nls6sA8cE5_QUzb57Qwz7X_hirQIuH6fNBBlO_eRhc5BcK/s640/IMAG5543w.jpg" title="zoya ali nina ultra pro punki pink" width="526" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">No Top Coat</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>First, the similarities: they both have incredible formulas for neons. This is 2 coats of each one and I had no problems getting a smooth and even application. They're both very bright, in-your-face, fun and summery!! (Though I definitely do not restrict my neon-nail wearing to summer, no sir.) Also something to note, is neither of these dry fully matte like a lot of neon polishes - I'd say these dry down to a satin finish or semi-matte finish.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvGAKPNc728sTBaP3KIbVABH4SAaPPlcByzwdTYLwrvoOxGoN_Wgslv9eVezIWQaCjzVIq4d65HcbsH6XRZ7rH9MeNE0mUTgiH_LU6OBxHIoeGkyvfM5Ck-ncWBquoP9N_Gm1SVCpfaAMs/s1600/IMAG5545w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img alt="hot neon pink" border="0" height="442" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvGAKPNc728sTBaP3KIbVABH4SAaPPlcByzwdTYLwrvoOxGoN_Wgslv9eVezIWQaCjzVIq4d65HcbsH6XRZ7rH9MeNE0mUTgiH_LU6OBxHIoeGkyvfM5Ck-ncWBquoP9N_Gm1SVCpfaAMs/s640/IMAG5545w.jpg" title="zoya ali nina ultra pro punki pink" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">No Top Coat</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
And the differences... </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Zoya <i>Ali </i>is a bit more cool toned than Nina <i>Punki Pink</i>. This is, however, more apparent pre-top coat and less apparent after top coat is applied, as you'll see in the photos. <i>Punki Pink</i> is more of a HOT pink, but the differences in color are only so apparent when they are swatched side by side. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Formula wise, though I got opaque and even coverage on both of these at 2 coats, <i>Punki Pink</i> is a bit thinner than <i>Ali</i>. Both are very easy to work with so it may just come down to preference in formula. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
The other difference is price point. Zoya sells for $8 a bottle and Nina is usually $4-$5 depending on whether or not you're a Beauty Club Member at Sally's (I am, of course). </div>

These are not exact dupes, but close enough that if you have one, you probably don't need the other. That is, unless you're me and you just have to own every neon pink you can get your hands on no matter how slight the difference! (Just for the record though, I did get <i>Ali </i>free with a recent Zoya promotion...so don't hate on me too hard!) <br />

Hey folks! I have a simple swatch post for you today. After all the crazy nail art I did for the last month, I needed a little break, like, just some regular polish. Remember way back when I posted about <a href="http://hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2012/12/china-glaze-def-defying.html" target="_blank">China Glaze <i>Def Defying</i></a>? I mentioned then that I had my eye on a couple of other polishes from the World's Away collection...I finally caved and bought one of them! This is <i>Escaping Reality</i>. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiethubjz9Lamo-ydol9MbByJBC8jchtReA7LcxLIzoP2jJglr8nDavRs4Vaj_zSo3fBVEa5E4Sn872_ALjfwNTqnfN6dV04u1A0NEEIo2eFeikjf0AC_1QSkdh_26kwD28zXbwGjSiTq3P/s1600/IMAG6343w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="cream crelly creme bright pink" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiethubjz9Lamo-ydol9MbByJBC8jchtReA7LcxLIzoP2jJglr8nDavRs4Vaj_zSo3fBVEa5E4Sn872_ALjfwNTqnfN6dV04u1A0NEEIo2eFeikjf0AC_1QSkdh_26kwD28zXbwGjSiTq3P/s640/IMAG6343w.jpg" title="china glaze escaping reality" width="558" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<i>Escaping</i> <i>Reality</i> is a bright, borderline neon, cream pink. The formula on this is perfect, a true crelly (if there is such a thing.) It dries to a, we'll say, satin/rubber type finish, presumably because of that almost-neon quality. This polish is in the same color family as OPI <i>Charged Up Cherry </i>if you're familiar with it, but brighter and more blue toned. I absolutely loved wearing this color, very flattering on the hands. Clean-up was a breeze, too. I ordered this through trans-design.com recently along with about 8 other polish babies that I can't wait to show you!<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I have been so into pink polish lately... possibly influenced by my little girls who both almost always choose pink as their polish color! <br />

What is up ya'll? I've been kind of hit and miss on the blog lately, but I've been active on my <a href="http://instagram.com/hardlacquer" target="_blank">Instagram</a>, if you follow my shenanigans there (<a href="http://instagram.com/hardlacquer" target="_blank">@hardlacquer</a>), and definitely, definitely still polishing my nails often! I've been on a polish buying spree lately (I got ALL 12 of the Zoya Color Cuties - super excited to get those, some Color Club Halo Hues, some China Glaze Avant Garden and some randoms) so hopefully I'll be able to sit down and blog about all of them soon! Today I have one of the Color Club Halo Hues I ordered from www.shopcolorclub.com. This particular color is from the older Halo Hues line (I got 2 from the old, 2 from the new) and it's called <i>Cherubic</i>!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinSZkKC_MsS5qqOuOSHH7CiB5Kde2Y2UGenvNqcYkLdBYpfDMVzYKjDovH1-KexQLjkbUv7YciqaeBx03FiDqQRNboco0mSnYiVk0mhcWe4O_OpO9qynhWH2AScynBLPT4sLTfIkLN13Px/s1600/IMAG6528w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="aengland camelot nuetral linear holo dotting" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinSZkKC_MsS5qqOuOSHH7CiB5Kde2Y2UGenvNqcYkLdBYpfDMVzYKjDovH1-KexQLjkbUv7YciqaeBx03FiDqQRNboco0mSnYiVk0mhcWe4O_OpO9qynhWH2AScynBLPT4sLTfIkLN13Px/s640/IMAG6528w.jpg" title="color club cherubic" width="484" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a>I kept hearing really good things about these polishes so naturally I had to get my hands on one (or four). I don't have a <i>ton</i> of experience with linear holo polishes but I think in general they can be a pain in the tail. I have 3 Layla Hologram Effect polishes, which are beautiful (one of which I've posted about [<a href="http://www.hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2012/12/layla-ocean-rush.html" target="_blank">here</a>]), the final effect is very strong - but the application is lousy. But THESE! These Color Clubs?? They apply like a freakin' dream. Two coats is all you need and even one doesn't look half bad! There is no dragging or pulling or balding whatsoever. They all apply as good as any creme or even 'crelly' I've tried.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7ZF6hv3Tnhws2dxuhal3TErgEVW6mMux1FU1u6nFNgf5GzHbd95qG5hSKitkkBuySRpRC7hh0I2NTbpbOFpG5huPLtt6rdvBwj_QI5q0HvL9ZzK1_Ee1HElaUyESr6qzgvEpLnuvNPK1Y/s1600/IMAG6529w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="aengland camelot nuetral linear holo dotting" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7ZF6hv3Tnhws2dxuhal3TErgEVW6mMux1FU1u6nFNgf5GzHbd95qG5hSKitkkBuySRpRC7hh0I2NTbpbOFpG5huPLtt6rdvBwj_QI5q0HvL9ZzK1_Ee1HElaUyESr6qzgvEpLnuvNPK1Y/s640/IMAG6529w.jpg" title="color club cherubic" width="584" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<i>Cherubic</i> is an unusual color for a linear holo - it's a nude/neutral! I've never seen one of these before this one and I am in love with it. It's so, work appropriate but flashy at the same time! Can't beat that. The holo-ness on this is crazy strong. I highly, highly recommend any of these! <br />
<br />
I mean, I'm not trying to knock the Layla's here...but $15.50 for a 0.33 oz bottle and fussy application compared to $10 for a 0.50 oz bottle with buttery smooth application? The choice is pretty clear. Add to that, China Glaze, I've heard, is going to charge $14 (<i>twice</i> the price of their regular polishes) for the holo's they have coming out and the swatches I've seen don't have a holo effect anywhere NEAR as strong as these.<br />
<br />

<br />
Now that we have all that excitement over these Halo Hues out of the way, as I mentioned before I used 2 coats of <i>Cherubic </i>on all my nails except my ring finger where I put 2 coats of a-England <i>Camelot</i>. Then I took 2 different sized dotting tools and dotted in the opposite color of the base. I'm pretty happy with this color combination and this design is so so simple to do. You've seen it before right [<a href="http://www.hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2012/12/guest-nails-butter-london-come-to-bed.html" target="_blank">here</a>]! <br />

<br />
So go! Go now! Go get at least <i>one </i>of these Halo Hues beauties! <br />

FINALLY you guys - finally, today, on March 7, near midnight, I am typing up the LAST day of the February challenge... whew. (**Update, I fell asleep in the midst of this so NOW I'm finishing it near midnight on March 8...) I had it going on in the beginning and then it kinda fell apart but I was determined to finish this sucker. Thanks <a href="http://www.jilltasticnaildesign.com/">Jillian</a> for hosting this awesome chalenge! Day 28 challenge was to recreate your favorite day. There were a few days I really liked and I couldn't decide so I took a little poll on Facebook... and this is what I came up with...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2dVhM5N6dKWtGPGYlNiIUrI-bykBVqEBDusR20YlKDW6HBz_PPw3c3DAqn1kOGZTFpCeKrinDOJnwYAltlAi1f-pFOC9T54Bp1pXffthovazObuaHpQeAy-BTGdxHSLo-HBSWs54CH3C3/s1600/IMAG6299w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2dVhM5N6dKWtGPGYlNiIUrI-bykBVqEBDusR20YlKDW6HBz_PPw3c3DAqn1kOGZTFpCeKrinDOJnwYAltlAi1f-pFOC9T54Bp1pXffthovazObuaHpQeAy-BTGdxHSLo-HBSWs54CH3C3/s640/IMAG6299w.jpg" width="442" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: left;">
For this mani I incorporated <a href="http://www.hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2013/02/flipflop-february-day-11-splatter.html">Day 7 Sugar Spun</a>, <a href="http://www.hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2013/02/flipflop-february-day-11-splatter.html">Day 11 Splatter</a> and <a href="http://www.hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2013/02/flipflop-february-day-12-drips-and-matte.html">Day 12 Drips</a> all in the original drips manicure color scheme. I'm sure you can figure out which nail is which! lol.</div>

I just ran out of steam at some point during this challenge. To do it every single day is A LOT of painting and blogging. <br />
<br />
It was hard to choose which design I was going to recreate, and I know Galactic Lacquer's mani's have already gotten a lot of love on the recreate day (well deserved), but her <a href="http://www.galacticlacquer.com/2013/02/flip-flop-february-flowers.html" target="_blank">Day 20 Flower</a> nails are just the ones I wanted to try! I changed the colors a little...and I have got to get a striping polish with a thinner brush, but I'm still pretty happy with the results.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg91LBV73YpBC4Izkd2IzDN9bgTVTs_SfZATCF_DMWshgz4jFyhUqY9J58-CDkMg2C5B5LRx6KzksaQ9CVTxLRgdPBbU3T2XSq62H3FQydI1MXdlqdbkAfS7qARH0UFLmk0q-yfYm6JPena/s1600/IMAG6253w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="manicure flowers" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg91LBV73YpBC4Izkd2IzDN9bgTVTs_SfZATCF_DMWshgz4jFyhUqY9J58-CDkMg2C5B5LRx6KzksaQ9CVTxLRgdPBbU3T2XSq62H3FQydI1MXdlqdbkAfS7qARH0UFLmk0q-yfYm6JPena/s640/IMAG6253w.jpg" title="cherry blossom mani" width="518" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
For these I used a base of China Glaze <i>Pelican Gray</i> with one coat of China Glaze <i>Luxe and Lush</i> on top. Then I took my FingerPaints striping polish (<i>Ch-art-coal Black</i>) to do the branches and dotted with Zoya <i>Ali</i>.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In general ... I am pretty terrible with striping polish - or anything free hand, except for with my dotting tools, but brushes?? I definitely need more practice.</div>

Hey ya'll! Woohoo, Day 26 - only about... 5 days late. Today we were supposed to do "A Theme You Missed" and while I'm going slow, I haven't missed any days. But I didn't do both options for everyday so I chose to do the other theme from Day 6, Glitter Bomb! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTU-uuQS4gewe8zXmtGbJch0s1qneQEy2KESRgHNEZOpIT4eDEq7HvIDTfBNp1uJHrfG_aToqXiU-Tsu_UyW7vAn4h9ugFhCTG6uW7fv32m8cJDJwanUAxXs77MJ0MVXfLmXgHXRFLjr5i/s1600/IMAG6206w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="glitter bomb" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTU-uuQS4gewe8zXmtGbJch0s1qneQEy2KESRgHNEZOpIT4eDEq7HvIDTfBNp1uJHrfG_aToqXiU-Tsu_UyW7vAn4h9ugFhCTG6uW7fv32m8cJDJwanUAxXs77MJ0MVXfLmXgHXRFLjr5i/s640/IMAG6206w.jpg" title="opi simmer and shimmer zoya nova" width="558" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For my thumb, index and middle fingers I used OPI <i>Simmer and Shimmer. </i>You can find a good review of this [<a href="http://www.scrangie.com/2010/10/opi-burlesque-collection-for.html" target="_blank">here</a>] that <a href="http://www.scrangie.com/" target="_blank">Scrangie</a> did, lots of colors in this one but mostly it's blue. Since this bottle of polish is about 2.5 years old it was pretty thick and almost covered in one coat, but I used 2 over one coat of OPI <i>Suzi Says Feng Shui</i>. Need to take the thinner to this <i>SandS</i>. </div>
<br />
For my ring and pinky nails I used Zoya <i>Nova</i>. All the same color glitter in this one suspended in a raspberry tinted jelly base. I used 3 coats over one cot of Essie <i>Big Spender</i>. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Both of these glitters can be built up to full coverage on their own, but I used the base so I could use less coats and to help wrap the tips of my nails. It's hard to do with glitter sometimes. I topped all nails with one coat of Cult Nails <i>Wicked Fast</i> and one coat of Seche <i>Vite</i>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1XNwGbzr2PdimU1HY0Z4sFBPamchy5h-ZgYVND9Hwy0lrJsu25EWUn6fbbHPycfVu-R1DzflvOiFATvff6cORyFXPKdd8yxoqB7rnIpjdOasp6NYojUlQbPDEi6T59mRaEu9TBHo51cU5/s1600/IMAG6207w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="glitter bomb" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1XNwGbzr2PdimU1HY0Z4sFBPamchy5h-ZgYVND9Hwy0lrJsu25EWUn6fbbHPycfVu-R1DzflvOiFATvff6cORyFXPKdd8yxoqB7rnIpjdOasp6NYojUlQbPDEi6T59mRaEu9TBHo51cU5/s640/IMAG6207w.jpg" title="opi simmer and shimmer zoya nova" width="556" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="text-align: center;"> </span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhreEkCbfbCXl28fE4QbZGPptownrYuTfez95G-nWZzNCWh8CRpS2tsfaYkdAFIKLVzAROjqaGZBS3Te_yOaq91g260gM8dnWc30tZV2x5XIsL4WJsX7jomPUE1u1TdMnsae9cJQyJGMQMk/s1600/IMAG6208w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img alt="glitter bomb" border="0" height="488" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhreEkCbfbCXl28fE4QbZGPptownrYuTfez95G-nWZzNCWh8CRpS2tsfaYkdAFIKLVzAROjqaGZBS3Te_yOaq91g260gM8dnWc30tZV2x5XIsL4WJsX7jomPUE1u1TdMnsae9cJQyJGMQMk/s640/IMAG6208w.jpg" title="opi simmer and shimmer zoya nova" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
I used the glue base coat on these and a few of the nails literally popped off after about...18 hours. One after about 12. These ease of removing glitter with a glue base coat is well worth the risk of them popping off too soon, in my opinion. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Heeey ya'll. Today I have what I think is my absolute favorite nails from the challenge so far. This is Day 25 - YouTube Tutorial or Tape. I chose YouTube tutorial because I've been wanting to try vintage roses <i>forever</i> and haven't yet. SO I looked up a tutorial (2, actually) and got to business. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1UQT-GUT2IyE5SrtZadre8ZRL0uaWebVcgMkXQvK-mWtx4khhn5qjttyi_Hz4-AD7zBb8YxE6qEJci4vW7p6A3Xhx-uCSeM8RJZomZOGKxXqgOgz4KaBsCXjIoMUd0AYZfDFG3VWVsCzM/s1600/IMAG6144w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="shabby chic mani" border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1UQT-GUT2IyE5SrtZadre8ZRL0uaWebVcgMkXQvK-mWtx4khhn5qjttyi_Hz4-AD7zBb8YxE6qEJci4vW7p6A3Xhx-uCSeM8RJZomZOGKxXqgOgz4KaBsCXjIoMUd0AYZfDFG3VWVsCzM/s640/IMAG6144w.jpg" title="Vintage roses" width="432" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The two tutorials I looked up can be found [<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7NQcVOx4MY" target="_blank">HERE</a>] and [<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNXztACwpBo" target="_blank">HERE</a>]. They both used a brush to paint on the roses, but I used my largest dotting tool. I used dotting tools with various size tips to do all of the nail art, except for the pinky nail, I used striping tape for that. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
My thumb is a base of <a href="http://hard-lacquer.blogspot.com/2012/11/first-post-with-orly-decades-of.html" target="_blank">Orly <i>Decades of Dysfunction</i></a> with dots in Butter London <i>Trout Pout</i>. <br />
<br />
My index and middle nails I also started with a base of <i>Decades </i>and added dots in OPI <i>Mermaid's Tears. T</i>he main color for the roses is <i>Trout Pout</i> and the ...contouring/petals/shadows (what the heck would you call those??) are in OPI <i>A Oui Bit of Red</i>. I used China Glaze <i>Starboard </i>for the leaves.<br />
<br />
My ring nail is just 2 awesome coats of <i>Mermaid's Tears</i>. I LOVE this color - I swoon over it everytime I wear it and it's the polish I'm holding in these pictures.<br />
<br />
For my pinky nail I started with 2 coats of <i>Mermaid's</i> and did the striping with <i>Decades</i>. <br />

<br />
I'd say this is my first truly successful "skittlette" manicure. (This phrase was coined by the talented Marta over at Chit Chat Nails. Check out her skittlette manis [<a href="http://www.chitchatnails.com/tag/skittlette/" target="_blank">here</a>]). I am so in totally in love with this that I did it on Day 24 and am still wearing it on Day 27...and not taking it off tonight either!!! <br />
<br />
At some point I'll be back with Day 26 which is A Theme You Missed or Favorite Polish (< who can really pick just ONE of those??). <br />
