Ya'll, it's Saturday! And I'm wearing the most fun design on my nails right now, I'm in love with it - but I can't talk about it yet because it's Day 9 and not Day 11. BUT for Day 9 our options are Abstract or Plastic Wrap. The whole abstract idea kind blows my mind, so I chose plastic wrap. It was my first time and I really really really liked it! I didn't realize there were so many designs and techniques I hadn't tried yet until this challenge...thanks Jillian!
For this design I started with 2 easy coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Buttercup. The color doesn't look so great on my skin tone alone, but I've noticed myself reaching for it a few times when it comes to nail art. It goes on very smooth for a pastel yellow. If I were wearing this alone, I would probably do 3 coats to be fully opaque and even.
Then, one nail at a time, I painted on one full coat of China Glaze For Audrey and used a piece of balled up plastic wrap to press firmly on the wet polish and lift up. It creates this amazing marbleized look! I can not believe I haven't tried this before - it is so so easy! And you absolutely can not mess it up. Every one has to try this - it is a great way to wear two colors and try some nail art out for everyone.
The finish comes out a bit bumpy and uneven, but 1 coat of Seche Vite fixed that easy. Don't judge it til you put the top coat on! I didn't really want to take this off when the time came! Can't wait to try this again.
Tomorrows nails will be Fish Tail Braid (never tried) and Half Moons (also never tried)...
There are a lot of other girls participating in this challenge, so go see what they came up with!! I'll be looking too!
