Flip/Flop February Day 25: YouTube Tutorial

Heeey ya'll.  Today I have what I think is my absolute favorite nails from the challenge so far.  This is Day 25 - YouTube Tutorial or Tape.  I chose YouTube tutorial because I've been wanting to try vintage roses forever and haven't yet.  SO I looked up a tutorial (2, actually) and got to business.  

The two tutorials I looked up can be found [HERE] and [HERE].  They both used a brush to paint on the roses, but I used my largest dotting tool.  I used dotting tools with various size tips to do all of the nail art, except for the pinky nail, I used striping tape for that.  

My thumb is a base of Orly Decades of Dysfunction with dots in Butter London Trout Pout.

My index and middle nails I also started with a base of Decades and added dots in OPI Mermaid's Tears.  The main color for the roses is Trout Pout and the ...contouring/petals/shadows (what the heck would you call those??) are in OPI A Oui Bit of Red.  I used China Glaze Starboard for the leaves.

My ring nail is just 2 awesome coats of Mermaid's Tears.  I LOVE this color - I swoon over it everytime I wear it and it's the polish I'm holding in these pictures.

For my pinky nail I started with 2 coats of Mermaid's and did the striping with Decades.

I'd say this is my first truly successful "skittlette" manicure.  (This phrase was coined by the talented Marta over at Chit Chat Nails.  Check out her skittlette manis [here]).  I am so in totally in love with this that I did it on Day 24 and am still wearing it on Day 27...and not taking it off tonight either!!!
