Flip/Flop February Day 15: Jelly Sandwich

Hi ya'll!  Today is Friiiiiday!  Get excited.  Ok, calm down and look at the nails!  Today's options were stamping or jelly sandwich.  I chose jelly sandwich because I've already done some stamping in this challenge and because jelly sandwiches are easy, easy, easy and so pretty!

Before I get into the polishes I used - if you don't have any jelly polish yet, what are you waiting for!? GET SOME!!  Jelly polishes are so versatile (hello, like these glitter sandwiches...), you just can NOT mess up the application of a jelly polish and they are just so juicy looking!

For my index, middle and pinky nails I used Nina Ultra Pro Cobalt.  This is very very similar to Revlon Royal if you're familiar with it, but a bit lighter and way more jelly.  I have Royal and I love it - but I don't think it falls squarely in the jelly category because it is so pigmented and more finicky than a true jelly.  Cobalt is easy, beautiful and juicy and it really let the glitter shine through!

For my ring and thumb nails I used Essie Secret Story.  Follow that link to see what I think about that beauty.  If you own ANY polish - you should own that one.

The glitter I used is from Zoya's Ornate collection - it's Zoya Electra.  It's a holo bar glitter.  The holo did not show through that well in these pictures, but you could see it in real life.  For each of the nails, I used 2 coats of jelly polish, 1 coat of Electra and 1 more coat of jelly polish.  I enjoyed wearing this and it's just the easiest manicure you could ever do!  I love pink and blue together - I end up pairing them all the time.

Tomorrow we have Animal Print or Stripes!  I'm so excited for this one!  It's another one I was upset I only got to wear it for like 30 minutes!

Go check the other lacquered lovelies and their designs for today!!

    1. I know! It is really dense! Gooooo get it asap! Royal is really just not a jelly - you wouldn't have been happy with the formula since it purports to be a jelly.

  3. How do you know if it is a jelly polish?

    1. My method is to look in the bottle, hold it up to the light and look at the air bubble and also above your head and look at how the shaker balls appear in the polish...the polish will have this clearish quality. Will literally look like liquid jello. After you buy a few you will learn. The two in this post are awesome examples. Go get them!
